BCIA certifies individuals who meet education and training standards in biofeedback and progressively recertifies those who advance their knowledge through continuing education.

BCIA is recognized as the certification body for the clinical practice of biofeedback by the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB), the Biofeedback Federation of Europe (BFE), and the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR).

BCIA endorses the American Psychological Association “Multicultural Guidelines.” BCIA professionals recognize the importance of multiculturalism and diversity in clinical and optimal performance practice, education, and research, and treat individuals from diverse ethnic, linguistic, racial, sexual orientation, and gender identity backgrounds with appreciation and sensitivity.

BCIA offers Biofeedback Certification, Neurofeedback Certification, and Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback Certification.  Clinical and Technician certification tracks are available for Biofeedback and Neurofeedback, while only the Clinical track is available for Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback. December 2016 Update

Jennifer Grant, BCN is our Newest Certificant From Australia

Jennifer is a Clinical Psychologist who uses neurofeedback as an adjunct to her clinical therapy services for a range of psychological difficulties as well as for performance enhancement. Jennifer works transdiagnostically and across the lifespan. Based in an integrative medical practice, Jennifer is acutely aware of the synergies between neurofeedback (for the brain), biochemistry (for the body) and good psychological therapy (for the mind). Jennifer is passionate about using these synergies to help people create a more vital, rich, full and meaningful life.

BCIA Welcomes Ayben Ertem, MS, BCN from Turkey

Ayben Ertem is a health psychologist at the Brain Power Institute in Istanbul, Turkey who has been applying biofeedback and neurofeedback techniques to patients suffering from substance abuse, AD/HD, learning disabilities, schizophrenia and personality disorders.  She is widely published and helped to write the first book in Turkish about the effectiveness of QEEG and neurofeedback with various disorders.

Michelle Aniftos, BCN is our Latest Certificant from Australia
Michelle is a Clinical Psychologist, Educational Consultant, and Certified Neurofeedback Practitioner working in private practice in Toowoomba, Queensland. She has been an active member of the Australian Psychological Society, Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia, and the Biofeedback International Certification Alliance – Australia (Chair).  She  completed Masters degrees in both Special Education, Guidance and Counselling and Clinical Psychology and has post-graduate certification in Clinical Neurophysiology. With 25 years of experience in education, Michelle specializes inworking with children and youth with a variety of social-emotional, behavioural and learning challenges.

BCIA Welcomes Justine Loewenthal, BCN of South Africa
 Justine is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Registered Counsellor and an EEG Technician.  She offers routine EEGs, Quantitative EEG analysis, neurotherapy, and counseling to adults and children and is very passionate about her work.  Justine has experience with a wide range of disorders and has a special interest in trauma, attention, optimal scholastic functioning, adjustment to change, anxiety, stress, sleep difficulties, and the impact on the family.  Ms. Lowenthal is a member of the Neurotherapy Association of Africa and the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR) and has contributed to books, magazines, and newspapers.
