Filing an Application for Certification in HRV Biofeedback by Prior Experience Pathway
Candidates may file an application at any time during the certification process. The signature area includes your agreement to abide by the BCIA Professional Standards and Ethical Principles of Biofeedback and follow the appropriate rules and regulations of your profession and state. To be accepted, applications must include: the signature, proof of current license to practice in a health care field in accordance with BCIA standards, and payment of the $150 filing fee.
Fees include $150 filing fee which must be paid at the time the application is submitted, plus a $275 certification fee, a total of $425. If this is your second BCIA certification (in addition to either BCIA Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, or PMDB), the total fees for dual certification are $225 ($150 filing fee + $75 certification fee).
Dual Certification - If this is your second BCIA certification (in addition to either the BCIA Biofeedback, Neurofeedback or PMDB), the total fees for your 2nd BCIA certification are $225.
All fees are non-refundable and must be in US funds and paid by check, money order, or credit card. If using a credit card, you may pay online using the links below:
BCIA welcomes appropriately licensed/credentialed health care professionals from any country or region outside the United States and Canada. Until such time as a country or region forms a BCIA affiliate organization (a la Australia), then BCIA will require all applicants for certification who reside outside the US or Canada to demonstrate that they have a license to practice in an approved health profession in the country where they reside. It is up to each professional to understand how biofeedback may be legally included as part of their professional work. Degrees earned outside the United States must be translated and evaluated by an organization that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) at www.naces.org.
**If you have a license from a field such as medicine or psychology and your credential is in English, you do NOT need to submit evaluated transcripts.
International Fees - BCIA offers a structured fee schedule to suit the financial realities in different countries and regions. If you live and work outside of the US and Canada, please use this link to learn more about the international fees and refer to the country list to locate the appropriate fee group. As you will notice, both the filing fee and the certification fees have been combined into one. Please contact BCIA at email@example.com if you have any questions about the fees.
