BCIA Webinar 2024-02 BF/NF Clinical Update Webinar - BF and NF for the Rehabilitation Community

Presented by Dr. Tom Collura

This talk will provide an overview of published results using biofeedback and neurofeedback as components of a comprehensive rehabilitation program. Biofeedback is based on operant learning principles and is used to help develop adaptive mechanisms and the learning of behavioral and coping skills, in range of areas. These include feedback training of motor function (muscle and movement patterns), pain management, stress reduction, restoration of balance and coordination, and improvement of cognitive and emotional function. Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that measures brain activity using an electroencephalogram (EEG) and provides feedback to help individuals learn how to
regulate their brain waves. It can be a useful tool in rehabilitation by targeting specific areas of the brain that are affected by injury or illness.
