AAPB Virtual Presentation: App-based HRV & Audio-Harmonic Training as Potentiator of Clinical Neurotherapeutic Practice
Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM MST
Category: Events

Presented by: Mari Swingle, PhD, R. Psych; BCN

This session will present the results of a 100-person clinical trial of a combined HRV and audio-harmonic protocol. The intervention pairs standard HRV training with specific sound / harmonic frequencies designed to quiet regions / frequencies of the brain associated with hyperarousal. Results show significant alterations in theta, beta, gamma, and alpha bandwidths associated with quieting. Subjective reporting aligns with statistical findings. Findings also include EEG markers of mental efficiency improving in tandem with quieting, fueling further hypotheses regarding the power of an intervention that can quiet without sedative effects. Discussion will cover detail of mechanisms of action as evidenced by change in the EEG, including universal effects, unexpected secondary (main) effects, as well as gender-specific and condition-specific effects, associated therapeutic limitations, and cautions. Discussion will also explore the application as a home-based or in-clinic potentiator of clinical neurotherapy and psychotherapy outcomes.

Attendees will earn 1.5 CE credit for full participation.
