Adverse Reactions: Everything a Neurofeedback Practitioner Wants to Know but is Afraid to Ask Presented by Ainat Rogel, PhD and D. Corydon Hammond, PhD Similar to almost all effective medical treatment modalities, sometimes neurofeedback has unintended adverse reactions, or side effects. Fortunately, nearly all of them are mild and transient, and when addressed, especially quickly, can be resolved. Thus, it is the responsibility of the neurofeedback practitioner to screen, track and address them. This webinar provides a comprehensive overview of adverse reactions to neurofeedback. It starts with a discussion of ethical implications, definition and categories of adverse reactions, followed by a background history, including a literature review. The bulk of the webinar is on clinical implications, from screening to tracking to ways of addressing adverse reactions when occurred. Specifically, the focus is on using the arousal model to detect, track and address adverse reactions. Remember, the first rule is to do no harm. CLICK HERE to register! |
